I have sold all my pigeons, and the buyer is arriving at 7:30 in the morning. I have two heavy-weight cardboard boxes that I plan to cut vent Xs in.
My main question: If I catch them at night when they're calmer and box them 10 to a large box (3'x2.5'x 1'), will they be OK until 7:30 am pick up time? I would keep the boxes in the barn in the shade.
Is there a great way to catch them? Last time I spent 1 and 1/2 hours to catch 10, just by sticking my arm in the pen and grabbing at them. Seems harsh to get them all worked up. This is why I'm hoping to catch them in the dark instead.

I dont know pigeons but chickens dont eat or drink at night. If your birds are the same, they should be fine. I have done this exact thing when selling roosters.

Probably too late at this point but that seems like your best bet. Keep the boxes in the dark and they’ll be quiet and relax the whole time as well.
