Boy? Girl? Breed??

Hi guys - hope you can help!

Just got home with some lovely little new additions to the feathered family...

2 are amber links (and I'm confident they are female).

The other 2 are of unknown breeding, and one I am fairly sure is a male....

I'd like you to take a close look at the "blue" chick in the center of the picture - any guesses as to the sex are welcome! "It" seems to have a lot more feathers on it's head than the black on (seen in the background), is slightly larger and has a "prong-like" feather on it's rear. They are about 12 weeks old.

Please help!! Also if anyone has a clue as to the breed, that would be appreciated too

LOL - would you believe, I haven't counted the toes?!?

As I'm in the UK, and it's almost 9pm here, the girls are now soundly sleeping so toe counting and closer pictures will have to wait until the morning

I'm pretty certain they only have 4 toes though...

Here are 2 more pics we took earlier which shows "Piper" (the blue mystery) with "her" "sister" (Prue, the black mystery)!

They're not great pics really, but might give you an idea of the body shape better than the other pic.

Any guesses on the sex of our blue baby or the breed of either?? I'd love to have something to think about and search out more pics of to see what they might be like when they are fully grown

I'm new to keeping chickens, but the "blue" looks almost identical to my 10 wk old Blue Andalusians. The Black looks a lot like my Black Australorp, but the legs are the wrong color, so it probably isn't. No idea on sex. Maybe these pictures will help.

Cloudy, my 10 wk old female Blue Andalusian. I have another one that is almost identical, just slightly darker coloring.

Banana, my 10 wk old female Black Australorp. Note the black legs. Also, she is getting a decided greenish iridescence to her feathers when seen in the sun.

With winds of over 60mph, and considering they were kept completely sheltered, I'm keeping my babies inside today - hence the bad quality of the pics - and they are probably the best ones I'm going to be able to get for a few days

I think you might be right about Piper being a Blue Andalusian, but there is still the question over gender (if "she" is a "he" I will have to rehome "him" - unless "he" decides to crow very, very quietly so no one else realises lol).

The Australorp looks a lot like my little Prue - but she has pale yellow legs rather than black:

Ok, I'm starting to get worried now...

Does no one really have any ideas what these two babies are ... or are they some horrendous breed that's going to grow to 8 foot tall and come eat me and my family in the night??

Any ideas at all would be helpful - I did notice that the blue has a much larger eye than the black, if that helps any...

Please, someone, give me some more clues lol.

Would that explain the "puffy" hair-do? Oh boy, I hope so! I really couldn't bear to part with little Piper, and we've only had her for a day!

Any idea what she could be crossed with if she is part polish?

The polish would explain the crest. It's hard to tell what else shes mixed with, without seeing her tail.
