boy or girl eggs?

I came across this which is an actual NIH study. But it claims 80% accuracy? Anyone actually try this on the forum? I'm skeptical but it would be great if it were this simple LOL

It's bs in my opinion. I have hens who lay oblong, and hens who always lay rounder eggs. I haven't seen any correlation to that and the gender of the hatched chicks.

I have tried it not realizing that I did and it worked. One time I collected mostly pointy long eggs I got mostly males. The next time I collected mostly round eggs because I thought that they looked cute and out of 17 chicks only 3 were males. So it seems like it worked. Maybe. There were a few other differences though. Like the first hatch that hatched mostly males I used an old incubator that the temperature would get kind of high at times about 100 to 101. The second hatch the temperatures stayed at 99.5 the hole time. It was done in a new incubator. But in the past when I did a equal amount of pointy and round eggs I got a more equal amount of males and females. So I will try doing exactly what I did last year and maybe I will get mostly females again. But not sure if this will work for everyone because I had other was of choosing the other then just shape. I can explain to you in more detail exactly what I did if you want.

I've read somewhere on this panel that you could usually tell the sex of an egg based upon its shape. Any thoughts on this?
I actually did an experiment to see if this was true, and it was not. It’s an old wives tale. You can only tell once they have hatched, that I know of.

I always take pictures of the eggs before incubating.
All the eggs from my last hatch were a mix some pointed and others rounded.
All the chicks are cockerels.
how the eggs look dont tell you.
Wow, having all cockerels hatch is sure some bad luck! Sorry! But you also proved this is just an old wive's tale. I believe a lot of wive's tales, just not that one. :)
