This is Annabelle . . . I hope. She's about 4 weeks old, and she's bigger than our buff orpington and silkie who are the same age. She's starting to get bossy . . . she literally steps on the others. Is there any way to tell if she is actually a he?? I have no idea what I will do if she's a boy . . . we're not allowed to have roosters where we live. Is it too soon to tell??

Her chest is getting some redish feathers. I think she's an Amaraucana . . . is that right?? We are TOTALLY new at this.

On the off chance that "she" is a "he" what do we do with him??

Pure bred Ameraucanas are mostly only available from a breeder. Hatcheries are notorious for selling Easter Eggers as Ameraucana or other variations of the name.

Your girl is an EE, an Ameraucana does not come in that color.

She could lay blue, green, pink, or brown eggs. Thats just because they are technically mutts.

I highly doubt its a boy, but you could try giving him away or sell him.

It could very well be. There were dozens of chicks in the cage. I know the other two becuase they are obvious (a black silkie and a buff orpington), but this one could be anything. I know the guy said Ameraucana, but I don't know if that's the one he grabbed. I've looked at a gagillion pictures of baby chicks and she could be one of many! We'll know for sure when she's grown, right? She has racing stripes under her wings and from between her eyes to down her back.
