boys or girls and what am I?

all ees look roosterish to me, the hens feathers look pointy and the roosters are slow to get much comb compared to other breeds. But at 15 weeks, its possible that the hens are getting ready to lay. And the male ees should have some irridescent feathers showing up. I've been going through the same thing with my Buckeyes, but they have fianlly feather differentiated.

StacyK I am also new to trying to ID girls from boys and I first check the tail for obvious reasons and then check the legs. Boys' legs tend to be much thicker and sturdier-looking than girls' legs. Then I may look at combs and wattles, but I have found them to be a poor predictor of sex at times.

I am leaning towards all boys. Doesn't Maxine have saddle feathers started?

L*A*G* :

If they are over 3 and 1/2 months old and not crowing, they are some pretty gals.

This is true! My 9 wk old BO cockerel just started crowing today....he sounded so cute!!

I think that if they are 15 weeks old and they haven't started crowing yet then they are probably pullets. My 9 wk old BO (who was supposed to be a pullet

) cockerel just started to crow today. He was pretty good at it, too

My EE boy has crowed exactly twice and he's 19 weeks. The first time he crowed was at 18 weeks so sometimes it takes a long time!
