looking for help identifying 6 wk old brahma chicks. sorry for not including a photo! out of 12, I have noticed that 5 have much smaller tails, less feathering on their wings, slighltly darker, & less even colouring than their siblings. no sign of anything much in the way of combs or wattles to speak of on any of them yet any help or opinions would be much appreciated, thanks.

those 5 are roosters the rest pullets.

Even with pictures sexing many breed at 6 weeks old is tough.

all I can suggest is do a comparison of wattles and combs. See if you have a group who's wattles and combs are significantly larger and redder then the other group. If you do , that group maybe roosters. The other group pullets and the ones in between surprises.

Hi Pipermark, thanks so much for replying. Your comments are very encouraging. I am choosing to believe you are right and I have less cockerals than pullets. Fingers Crossed! Thanks a mill.
