I have two Brahmas almost 7 months. One with a bright red comb that is laying and the other has not really pinked up a lot and looks a little dry to me. She acts fine, not laying but her comb on top of looking dry has a funny little protuberance or polyp like structure at the base of her beak. Is this normal or a sign of something else that can be wrong? I think it givers her personality, but just curious. I posted a picture of each birds combs to compare. First is Jack-Jack who is red like the others girls in the flock and second is Sweet Pea, who just might be a late bloomers but has the extra nubben on her comb.

Yep, late bloomer. If your in the Northern Hemisphere, could be explained away by the winters. My brahmas didn't start laying until they were around 30 weeks because of the winter.
