Brahma hens

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are first time chicken owners. We have three Brahma hens that were born on 07/08/2019.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
3 hens
(3) What breeds do you have?
Brahma
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love their friendliness. They follow me around like puppies. Sometimes, I feel like I have miniature dinosaurs in the backyard. I never knew I would enjoy chickens so much.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I live for Georgia Bulldogs football ! And reading too, I guess.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have an indoor calico cat. We have all kinds of wildlife in the yard like snakes,

toads, rabbits, and even a fox (YIKES ! I KNOW !) yesterday. The youngest child is the main "keeper of the chickens" and we hope she can join 4-H one day.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have read a lot of your posts over the last few months.

Welcome! If your youngest is at least five, she can join the 4-H Cloverbuds program. If she is eight, she can be in 4-H. This does vary from state to state though. Good luck!

Did you see the fox during the day?

Yes. It was just after 10 AM. It was a beautiful healthy looking adolescent but he was 5 feet away and licking his chops ! I'm still glad I saw him/her and scared them of ! I found a hole in the fence and have since plugged it up. I'm thinking of getting wolf urine too.

Not gross to me. I have encouraged my hubby to "release at will" anywhere along the fence line and coop !
