My 12 week old Light Brahma pullet's back seems to be going bald, but there are no mites, and no problems with the other pullets that share the coop with her. She doesn't seem sick at all, and is doing everything she usually does. I dust for mites regularly, and clean the coop often. Could she be plucking the feathers from her own back ? What could be going on ????

Sometimes chickens jump on eachothers backs when theres commotion and a lot of chickens. This might be what happen, do you think you could post a pic?

Do you have a rooster? Hens sometimes try pulling each other's feathers in a fight. If you ever catch that happening, you can make a small blanket for her back.

I'll try to post a pic. There is no rooster in this coop, he's in the other one. I haven't seen any of the other pullets jump on her, and there are 7 pullets and 3 guinea keets that share that coop.
