is this common with brahma's to run around gain speed jumps up and bam chest bumps the other , it's like watching a sumo wrestler in action . I put in feed balls to give them something to do to get them away from chest bumping . some hanging toys the barred rocks love the toys they spend hours with them

If you want to see some real chest bumping, here is is, complete with dramatic music, LOL. The Brahma males have the most brutal pecking order battles at 5-7 weeks old I've ever seen in any of my breeds. They work it out in a couple of sessions and it's all done, though.

How old are they?
I've seen many breeds, of both genders, to do this frequently around 8-14 weeks of age.
Like a bunch of kids dashing around rough and tumble...cracks me up!
I did have a Brahma chick chest bump an adult hen.

aart is right, pullets also do this, but my Brahmas are the absolute worst. The girls will also jump into the fray, though they get out of it much faster than the boys do. I've had to actually doctor scrapes and pecked eyes from their rumbles. It's bad for them because the boys almost always have bare shoulders that get scratched up and even bloody at times. But, it's over in one afternoon session most of the time. And yep, they'll take on grown hens, but so do a few of my Barred Rock cockerels occasionally.

It's weird because those are the sweetest boys toward humans we've ever seen.
