Hey,

I recently got into raising chickens. We have 9 Rhode Island Reds and 12 Barred Plymouth Rocks. They are now 3 weeks old and still adorable. I have been told I am an "over protective mother" to my chicks, but being as this is my first time I don't want to make any mistakes and loose one my babies due to negligence.

They all seem healthy and happy. They are quite social and even affectionate at times. I am still learning as I go. I have a few questions that as of yet I have not found answers to.

For instance I have noticed that we have a lot of wasps in our area and I was wondering if they could be harmful to the chicks? I don't think they could get into where I am keeping them, but if one did what would happen?

Anybody know? Please let me know...

Sorry, no answer to your wasp question. We had a few last year and our chicks didn't mess with them.

We have wasps around here and loads of bees and had absolutely no problems.
And what do you mean "they're still cute"? They'll always be cute!

Ok thanks... I was a little worried but I'm startin to think they'll be ok as far as wasps go.
Haha well when they first come they're just little puff balls of fuz... and as they now have a lot of their adult feathers you'd think they wouldn't be as cute... but they're almost cuter
