So my wife wanted chickens to provide fresh eggs so today we finally took the leap. We started out with 6 chicks (2 of three different kinds) but the wife did not remember what kind they were. She thinks there are 2 Buff Orpingtons and 2 mayanS and 2 leghorns but she was not sure.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congratulations on your new chicks :celebrate Raising chicks is a fantastic and very rewarding experience, something I enjoy very much. You could post some more close up pics of your chicks in the what breed gender section of the forum for more help in identifying yiur chicks breed. Here is the link https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

Wishing you the very best of luck with your new chicken adventure. Be sure to ask any questions you have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and your new chicks :frow

Good morning and welcome to BYC!

Hope you enjoy the new little ones. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hiya! :) I'm also new to BYC, but on the opposite coast. We don't even have our chickens yet - just thought I'd say hi!

The pics you posted are so cute, and cuteness is one of the driving motivators for my wife wanting to raise chickens in the first place; to have the chicks, watch them follow around their mom, hatch and raise chicks, watch them follow arou ... ad infinitum. :)

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join to our flock. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
