Brand New chicken family!

I'm Allison. My 15 year old daughter and I made an impulse buy yesterday at Tractor Supply and bought 6 girl chicks.

2 x Brahmas
2 x Jersey Giants
2 x Buff Orpingtons

We love having baby chicks in the house to snuggle. We look forward to their presence in the yard when they get bigger. The sounds they make are so sweet and soothing. And of course the eggs will be great. I love helping my kids to understand stewardship and responsibility.

My other hobbies are sewing and gardening, and I absolutely love to travel and eat. I work in health care. Our daughters are 13 and 15. We have 2 big dogs and 2 cats.
We can use all the advice we can get when it comes to chickens!

Check out the learning center, many sections about raising chicks, housing and feeding and more.
Make sure you have an adequate coop ready soon, those little ones will grow quickly and you need to be prepared. They are all large birds when grown and need adequate space in the coop as well the run unless you plan on exclusively free ranging.
