Hi all!

I've been a lurker here for a while, learning a lot from the forum here since my family decided to take the plunge into the world of chicken keeping. This afternoon, our babies arrived, and so it is now real: we're officially chicken people!

We ordered our babies online from MPC, getting a Black Austrolorp (named "Pepper") for my son, a Buff Orpington ("Stella") for my daughter, a Barred Rock ("Henrietta") for my husband, and a Delaware ("Gwendolyn") and a Golden Laced Wyandotte ("Lynda Carter the Wonder Chicken") for me...


Still in their shipping carton... The two light colored ones are Stella the Buff Orpington (left) and Gwendolyn the Delaware (right). The dark-colored ones are Pepper the Black Austrolorp (top), Henrietta the Barred Rock (right), and Lynda Carter the Golden Laced Wynadotte (bottom left).


Here they are in the brooder... L-R: Pepper, Lynda Carter (sleeping), Stella, and Gwendolyn... Henrietta is alseep behind Pepper...

All of the babies are doing well, and we are so glad they are here! :)

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) Your chicks are adorable and they have some interesting names. It's the first time that I've ever seen a chicken named after the actress who played Wonder Woman. Thanks for posting their pics. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.

Thanks! And yep, she is named for the actress... Looking at pics of grown Golden Laced Wyandottes, their markings look to me like gold armor, which made me think of Wonder Woman, and therefore Lynda Carter, so there ya go! LOL :)

I like it. Very creative naming. :o)
 
Yeah, their brooder is set up in the shower of the extra bathroom, so that was the most convenient place to put set them down, LOL! ;)
