Today I went out to a local farmer and bought a new pullet. She is an araucana. But since we got her back to the house I have realised a few things...
1 she will not eat anything just drink water
2 she had a pooey bum (but I have cleaned it now)
3 her feathers tend to fall out very easily
4 she barely clucks at all.
i have a few theories why she is so quiet but I am not sure if it would cause all the problems. When we collected her the farmers dog came over licked her legs and playfully bit/licked her head.

Any ideas?
Oh and how can I get her to eat (she has access to food and water)?

I don't know anything, for sure, but perhaps a few guesses.
You just got her today, so perhaps she is a bit stressed which may account for the not eating. What are you feeding her and what was she eating before you got her?
I'm not sure about the "pooey bum"
About her feathers - she could be undergoing one of the "mini molts" that occur as they grow.
I also don't have a guess about the silence.

Perhaps offer her a little something extra yummy to see if she has an appetite at all. Mine can't resist those freeze dried mealworms.

She has a mixture of corn by the small holders range and I don't know what she was eating before. I have offered her mash potatoes and tomatoes and mashed swede but she doesn't eat it. Thanks for replying.
