I have always been afraid of chickens (birds in general) but love watching chickens. So I now have 4 chicks in a brooder and a coop ready to set up. One of the chicks is called a "Naked Neck" which will obviously be "bless her heart" unfortunate looking all her life. But she is pretty gentle so far (only had them 5 days at this point) I will be looking at this site often for advise as I have no idea what I am doing yet. Super excited about this new adventure.

Naked necks are cute after you get used to them. There are also "Showgirls," a variety of silkies - which come down from a naked neck bred to a silkie.
