Hi everyone!
I have 10 week-old chicks in a stock tank brooder with a heat plate and full spectrum light with pine shavings and organic chick starter. I had a couple not make it, but the hatchery will resend with my next order.
I am in the coop planning stage- we have a very nice wooden shed that is about 200sqft that I will be converting to a coop- I plan on splitting it in half to share with the ducks. We have plans to build an approximately 300sqft run just outside of the coop as I plan to top out at 30 chicks over the years. The thing I am having the most trouble with is planning what to do about a door. I will post more asking for some guidance on this. Basically I have wanted chickens my whole life and now that I have 4.5 acres I am going for it! Thanks for the group!
