Finally.... Success! 12 baby bantams!
They are now two weeks old and all twelve are thriving! We had a leg issue with one chickie, the elastic band trick didn't work but on day four I used a plaster and by day six they were indistinguishable from the others!
Currently in their nice roomy brooder in the shed, they already seem not too bothered by their heat source (plate) which surprises me since it's not exactly warm ATM (around 0°c).
Most importantly, WOW they are FLUFFY!!!!!
Such gorgeous birds. We have a huge variety of colours which is cool! I bring one or two in a night for my (11 month old) son to play with just for a few minutes and they are very good with him. The budgies get very jealous of them though!
The yellow pot is purely to transfer the birds from outside to inside, they are in it for 5 seconds and yes they are fine in it
