Are they a brown barred? Sound interesting....

Nice....The females look similar to a golden partridge color....the male looks like a New Hampshire color.... I'm surprised that the male doesn't have more of a partridge color....very unique and pretty.

Exactly. They are a genetic mystery.
The females are like multiple laced/penciled partridge.
The males look like a buff blacktail columbian type.

They have been selected against blackness of breast.
The german breeders did not like the black breast with the gold flecking, that was thought to be necessary for good lacing in the females.
