Break down paper?

I've heard people do this and it works pretty well! I don't think the hens will eat it, at least not in large quantities. However, it may not be the most absorbent of materials.

I hope this helps. Best of luck!

I thought maybe in their nesting boxes?! Ok thanks for responding :) hopefully I get more feedback/info from others to see what they think!

I use shavings and hay or straw in the nest boxes. I've never tried shredded paper, but it' might work. I wouldn't want any shiny newsprint (toxic ink) and wouldn't love print stains on the eggs either, but I've no experience using it. Mary

Thanks Mary...I agree. I think I'd be too nervous about the health of my girls and their eggs. Would be nice to use it for something productive!
