Does anyone know if there is a way to break a hen from being broody? Is it harmful to her in any way? Is it discouraged? Thanks for any comments!
Depends on if you want babies and have fertile eggs or not?
Or if you want to add new baby stock to your flock, let her sit on fake eggs for a week or so and then bring home day old babies to sneak under her in the night, removing fake eggs at that time... instant family.
It can be as easy as removing her and any eggs from the nest... possibly several times in a couple of days time... or you might have to close her away from the nesting area for a while? Always offer treats and water and try to distract her.
