breaking eggs

For about a month or more now I have a egg broken in the nest almost every day. they will not eat the egg it is just broken and made mess in the nest. also egg production has decreased lately, im not sure if these 2 problems go together or not. if I collect eggs 3 or 4 times a day like a day im off from work I get them before they have chance to be broken, but on normal day I collect on my lunch hour and again late in evening.

just curious why get plastic eggs

they wont be able to crack into them and they will get tired of trying to crack the eggs open or you can make a small hole let the egg drain out and fill the egg shell with hot spice like chilli powder or tumric idk just something that makes them not want to crack another egg again lol but both methods work ive had my chicken eat eggs and after i did the spice one she never hurt another egg ever

What kind of food are you feeding? Do you have crushed oyster shell available for them?

they aren't eating the eggs, these solutions won't remedy the problem if it's just thin shells.

they are cracking the eggs but no eating them its really anoying i know but just let them get a nosefull of spice and they will be right
