I feed them maize soya and barley mix and sometimes I ferment it in water for 3+daysLooks like a mixed breed male and female. What do you feed them?
Is it possible to get them a formulated chicken feed? I’m not sure if that’s the best diet. The corn (maize) is fatty and not nutritious. And the separate grains enable the birds to be picky and only eat certain things, leaving them malnourished.I feed them maize soya and barley mix and sometimes I ferment it in water for 3+days

The OP appears to be from South Africa and it's much more difficult to get formulated feed in some other countries and sometimes not possible or even slightly economically feasible. While I agree that formulated feed is best, it sounds like the OP is doing a good job trying to supplement the feed and make it as complete as possible! The breeds of these two look to be mixed or potentially local breeds! As for age, I would guess the hen in front is a year+ old! What do you mean by fodder?
I mean a formulated feed. Like pellets. If that is possible, it will be much better for their health.
