Thank you. We were told it was a Rhode Island but it has black feathers peaking out near the missing tail and I didn't think Rhode Islands had black on them. My guess is 2.5-3 months also. The New Hampshire has Black Feathers so was wondering if it was that.I’m not super good with breeds (pretty bad actually at guessing breeds) but that looks like a Rhode Island, or a wellsummer ( pretty sure it’s not pure, meaning I think it’s a mix between chicken breeds). The age…. I would say around 2.5 - ~3 months

Your bird is a rich Mahogany.
I searched up production red pics, and yes I think your right, it looks slightly more like a production red.RIRs are black tailed red.
She looks like a Production red to me, though.
Whoops. I messed up.Your bird is a rich Mahogany.
The OP's bird is not. And I think I see black in the hackles as well.
With these types of Productions birds, there are a lot of hybrids out there. Its really important to be careful because they all look very similar. Production reds, NHRs, Cinnamon Queens, red sexlinks, all came from RIRs.Whoops. I messed up.![]()
