Breed and gender help

My son won a duck the other night at the county fair… Can anyone help identity breed? Gender? Any way to figure out appropriate age?

Black swedish? I think ducks are voice sexed. Do you know how old?
Do you know how to take care of ducks? He(?) Needs friends. Duck math!

Welcome to BYC! Congrats on your lovely duck. Does it have a distinct quack? They say the females quack, not the males. There are lots of duck people here on BYC, I’m sure some of them will be along shortly.

or more of a garbled sounding quack almost like a toad `m
personally i think it should be illegal to give out a single duck as a prize
you cant even buy 1 lone ducking you have to get at least 2, 3 or 4 in all the places that sell them
they are a flock animal
your duck needs other ducks in their life

are you planning to keep this duck?
it looks young maybe 2 months old?
ducks need a good duck feed or all flock feed
and water in containors deep enough that they can dunk their heads in to clean their nose and eyes
they like to swim but dont have to
i use kiddie pools with paver stones inside and out to create help for enter and exit
they need a safe place to sleep
many predators want to eat ducks

they need ventilation too
do have have other farm animals? that looks like a barn in the pics?
ducks also need more niacin in their diet than chickens do
i sprinkle nutritional yeast on the food
they also need grit

Thank you! I wasn’t sure on breed since there’s not that much white on chest. Someone told me Cayuga… but doesn’t seem green enough.
It’s only 3.2 lbs., so I hope it’s just young… doesn’t stand like a runner so… kinda at a loss… it could always be a mix too. Literally have no idea.

I would get her some friends though before she gets lonely She will get more white as she gets older.
