I'm new to raising chickens but loving it! I got two Americuanas this summer and I'm not sure of gender. I'm kind of thinking a hen and a rooster... They are about 9-10 weeks old. I also keep seeing in these threads where people think they got Americuanas but really got Easter Eggers... What's the difference? Curious if that's me too! Lastly, I was given 3 blacks hens. Have no clue on what type. Appreciate the help!

Those are Easter egger roosters. Easter eggers are a mixed breed that come in many colors and patterns. Ameraucana come in certain colors and are a standardized breed.

You blacks are probably Australorp. Check the bottom of the feet color. Pink is Australorp, yellow is Jersey giant.

Cockerels

Easter Eggers as well.

EEs are mixed breeds that can Y blue, green, pink, white, or brown eggs.

Ameraucanas are a pure breed that only come in 10 recognized colors. They have blue/grey legs, and lay blue eggs.

Any chickens that are not labeled as a specific color along with 'Ameraucana' are EEs.
