Breed and sex???

One day old. Unfortunately, only fertilized egg. Have a friend coming in three days so it won’t be alone. Started as a project for the kids, each one got an egg from a local farm, no idea if fertilized or what type of chicken they were from. Four eggs, one chick. What breed? 4 toes, one fuzzy one.

I think that your going to have to come back and post in a couple weeks/months. It's a little too early to tell both the breed and the sex. It's unfortunate that only one hatched, although I'm glad that it'll be getting a friend soon! Very cute pictures though!

I thought feather sexing had to be done in the first three days?

Feather sexing only works on breeds that were bred for that trait. Most chicks can’t be feather sexed sadly

Enjoy your baby and make sure to take lots of pictures. They grow up so fast.

Feather sexing only works for specific crossbreds that have been crossed for the traits. 95% of chicks cannot be feather sexed. Post pictures at around 7-8 weeks of age to determine sex, may take a little longer to judge breed. Especially if there is a chance if it being a crossbred.
