breed/color guesses?

We lost our houdan rooster this year and were all bummed so we decided to try to hatch out some babies. We were aiming for babies from him and the 4 girls he ran with - 2 barred LF cochins & 2 creme brabanters. We figured they would lay the smallest eggs we have as they are the youngest chickens we have and the brabanters are small - the only eggs as small as the brabanters are the spangled hamburgs. We have a mixed flock that free range together so there is no telling for sure what we hatched.

we were aiming for eggs from : creme brabanter
barred LF cochin
and figured we'd get some spangled hamburg

the eggs could also have been unusually small ancona, blue andalusian, CA grey, partridge cochin, speckled sussex or ee.


Possible roosters : mottled houdan
bantam mottled cochin
french (feather legged) black copper marans
speckled sussex
d'uccle

so far we have had 17 chicks hatch (I was not expecting this lol!) out of those 17 we have:
1 that is colored like a mottled
3 chipmunks
1 brown w/ fuzzy face (ee?)
4 black with chocolate points/faces
8 black - no dots on heads

about 5 of the blacks have fuzzy feet - the mottled does also.

what colors and mix of breeds do you think I have here? I never would have expected so much black.... and I am pretty sure I don't have ANY barred???

You can tell gender as early as 4 weeks old but some won't show for many more weeks. The adult colors will be different from what you see there and will not show themselves for many weeks.

thanks nurse turtle! Barred chicks usually do not show barring but appear as a black chick with a yellow dot on their heads. Mottled chickens are yellow with black markings like the chick on the far right in the third photo (altho silver lakenvelders look a lot like that too) Based on the pics and the breed choices I figured some people who knew more about genetics than me might be able to give some educated guesses

oh - and from what i remember -all the blacks came from white eggs ...
