Can someone help me to identify if these are hens or roosters? Ive only had chickens for about 4 months. My husband 3 of these home. There is also a white one that I am certain is a hen. To me, I think these look just like her except they are black but I want to be certain. I believe these are Bantam Cochins but there are no leg feathers. I could be wrong about the breed too. There has been some debate amoungst the people my husband got these from about the age of them. One said 5 months the other said 8 months. I was hoping some photos would help.

Its good to know they are females. One of the black ones is quite fiesty and I hoped it wasnt a roo.

Would the white one also be a black rock? She looks exactly the same as the black except she's white.

They sorta look like my Australorp X. ( I can't remember what it's crossed with - i think a RIR)
It has the same nice green translucent tinge to the black feathers. Mine also has red lacing on the chest. Very pretty.

But my australorp has dark coloured legs.

So my answer is: no idea, I don't have much experience with other breeds... but they are very pretty!!

They are all female. Not plymouth Rocks. At least not pure, the tails and body shape are wrong.

They look more like a wyandotte, but have straight combs.
