I've been given these 5 lovely bantam girls by a guy at a car wash. Yes totally random I know. But I'm quite taken by the now. My main breed has always been brahmas. My only experience of bantams is yokohama Phoenix type. So these girls are very different from anything ive had before. I initially thought they might be dutchies due to their high tail carriage. But I soon realised dutchies dont gave the leg feathering. The two blue girls labelled 4 and 5, I now think are booted bantams. They are slightly smaller and slightly more oval in eye to the other three and have single combes. The girls labelled 1, 2 and 3, I think may be a cross between a booted bantam and a silkie. Due to the black skin extra toes, pea combs and head tufts. These are just my guesses. I'd love to hear from anyone used to these breeds that might be able to verify this. I'm afraid the pictures dont show their outline the best as they put their tails down a bit every time I went close. They generally all hold their tails very high. I hope someone can help. Also any guess at age would be helpful too. The guy who gave them to me said he was given them. He has chickens for meat so bantams are of no interest to him. So I have no history for them at all...

I did consider that, yet they dont look like any pekins I've ever come across. Or any of the pekin photos online. They arnt as rounded, or as heavily feathered and their tail feathers are much too long and erect... like most of the photos I found of booted bantams...

Good point about the tails.

The wings are also carried a bit low. :hmm

Pretty mixed breeds with cochin in there is my best guess.
