I purchased some new pullets and hens from a local chicken fancier, she has some very unusual and beautiful chickens. We now have Bielefelders, Swedish Flowers, Cream Legbars and Silver Lace Wyandottes and one other, pictured here. She has no comb and very small wattles, and is medium-size (not Bantam). Previous owner says she is very broody.

I cannot for the life of me remember what this breed is. She said they were a Canadian breed, and were "marquis" in coloring and that she paid a lot of money for her.

The only Canadian breed I can think of is a Chantecler. They do have peacombs, like yours, and the yellow skin color is right for that breed. Never heard of Marquis coloring, though.

She didn't say it was a Chanticler, that much I do remember. It was something regal.

She doesn't really have a comb at all.

She's pencilled, with the mahogany gene causing that red colour. She does look to be a Chantecler.

Gosh, no wonder I was so confused.
She said Partridge Chancellor when I got her, but she's actually a Partridge Chanticler.
