Breed Help!!

I'm unsure of the breed and sex. I got it along with 4 silkies. The breeder told me it was a frill, but I've looked and cant find anything on what she said. I'm guessing a Cukoo Frizzle maybe? Any help would be great, thanks.

It’s a cuckoo Silkie. Looks like a pullet so far but age will help.

Awesome!! I appreciate the help Feather, had the cuckoo part correct. I was thinking frizzle due to the feather pattern, but the head was different. I'm new to Silkies so knowing this helps a lot.

Frizzle feathers curl outwards. Silkie feathers are split, I believe. Not a pro on anything ‘silkied’ myself though lol.

It does look different than the other Silkies. I looked up a picture and would say your right. Couldn't find any other Silkie that looked even close to the Cuckoo Silkie you said. I'm no silkie pro either lol

You definitely have a cute cuckoo Silkie. ‘Frill’ must be the term for its feather type, I’m not positive though. It’s not a frizzle because it still has the regular silkie feathering. How old is your bird?

It is 8 weeks old. The breeder said it was a frill, but I looked online and found nothing. The cuckoo silkie that was mentioned on first reply looks almost identical. It's a sweet chic, and a great teaching bird to teach my kids how to handle chickens and so on. Just unsure on breed
