Hi all,
So I got these 3 little guys to beef up my flock a little that just moved to a rather large area. The guy at the feed store said they are Rhode Island Red X New Hampshire Red, have not seen any info on that "breed" at all. Anyways these guys are a little over a week old and seeing if anybody can tell me what I have here. Thanks in advance

The person at the feed store was correct, but failed to tell you that these chickens are commonly called Production Reds. Many hatchery grade RIR are actually Production reds. Slightly misleading, but you have to consider that hatcheries are not the place to get chicken breeds to SOP.
Here is a copy and paste, that describes them.
The Production Red Chicken Breed is a cross between the popular Rhode Island Red Chicken and the New Hampshire Red Chicken. They are bred to be a very capable and efficient breed for egg production, yielding vast quantities of large brown eggs. They were developed later than the Rhode Island Red Chicken to be less of a meaty bird and to require slightly less feed for optimal egg production.

Really? ok, thank you very much. Just sort of threw us for a loop since we couldn't really find anything on the cross. Same breed but look completely different, well at least now we know. Thanks again
