I’ve watched these orange/gray babies for months, hoping one day I’ll be able to easily identify them. This has not been the case. They came from Rural King, so Hoovers Hatchery, in an unlabeled bin. They were small and brown when babies. Both are the same color, with one being maybe a tad darker. Any ideas?

Have they started laying yet? Egg color may help. Shape wise, they make me think of Wheaten Marans, but most Marans have white skin, not yellow. Dunno if wheaten match that or not. They could be Eggers of some sort (no color standard for most of those) or a Ranger....

They’re just about 16 weeks, so no laying yet. I thought it was possible some sort of egger, since I have two definite EEs with puffy cheeks that came from another unlabeled bin. I just thought it particular that they’d happen to be the exact same color and not be a specific breed. They were next to the Cinnamon Queen bin, but not a match there.

Thank you!
