Breed identification, please.

I think @Overo Mare is correct. The rooster is probably a messy Delaware and the hens are probably messy colored barred rocks.

Looking at McMurray's website, I didn't see any hatchery hybrids listed under the brown egg layer mix. It's still possible these birds could be one of those hatchery layer mixes, but probably just irregular examples of the breeds listed above and by Overo Mare.

I think they are pretty but they should not be used as parents for purebred chicks.

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to review.
I will not be breeding chicks from these chickens. My family and I are enjoying the fresh eggs and having a flock to brighten up the backyard.
