Breed? Kind?

Any clues as to what type of hens these are?

They are really hard to see through the wire in the photos to be certain, but they look like Game birds to me, possibly Old English Game.

A small possibility, due to the poor photo quality, is Golden Campine...but I am not seeing enough flash of white at the ear lobe to indicate that to me.

My guesses from those photos.

I google Old English Game hens and they look pretty similar. They are really skittish and run really fast.

What's the difference between a hen and a bantam?

A bantam is a miniature chicken. A hen is an adult, mature female chicken.
Old English Game Bird is a breed. The bantam version is called Old English Game Bantam.
