Hi. We live in Southern Ontario and are looking into getting some ducks. We'd like Muscovies and/or Khaki Campbells. I would love some advise on housing especially for winter, and predator control. Will racoons dig under fencing? Is it necessary to put the fencing below ground level?

I live in Upper Michigan aka The Frozen North, and my ducks free-ranged over last winter, and went into the goat shed when they got cold. My other poultry was in pens, they were chain-link dog pens 6 ft. high with a calf hutch inside for a shelter. None of my fencing is below ground level and we do have possums, raccoons, coyotes and wolves in our county---- though I do have a Great Pyranees dog outside to bark at stuff (she's on a chain because otherwise she chases cars.)
