Hi! I ordered a group of fryer chickens (rooster chicks) that were supposed to be white leghorns. I kept Barney because he was adorable and a bit bigger than the other chicks. I’ve attached a picture of what he looks like at 5 months now. Not a white leghorn, right?! I thought they were ALL white. Any ideas? He is very gentle with the hens and quite beautiful. I think he’s a keeper no matter what he might be, but I’m very curious…

I think he is a delaware!

It is so funny - I had to get rid of a SILKIE rooster because he was a big jerk to the girls. This guy is a sweetheart! He started out with my layers a bit younger and had to work his way up a bit - unfortunately there was a bit of pecking yesterday and one of his magnificent waddles has a little cut in it. My guess is that it was Charlotte, my Buff Orpington ( yes, a BUFF!) who was the flock boss prior to Barney's arrival. She has her moments, but is still sweet.
