Anyone know what breed this chick is? My husband was buying feed and kept hearing chirping from the empty chick bin and called over an employee that went searching and found the poor thing pinned under the waterer and being the last one they were gonna cull it so they offered it to my husband for free. It's extremely active despite being trapped without food and water for who knows how long. Plan to find another chick or 2 tomorrow to keep this one company. Anyway, there was no signs up so tell what breed it is. I'll add pictures in the next few weeks as it grows to help identify it.

White Leghorn? White Rock? Hopefully not Cornish X.

Whatever the breed, you'll have to name her "Lucky".
We went and got 4 chicks this morning and this little yellow chick is so happy to have company its running laps around the brooder and keeps grabbing the other chicks by the feet and pulling them out to play so we have started calling it ankle biter lol I have never seen a chick move so fast. We had a Cornish X last year and it was good eating but I was not a fan of the high maintenance it required and the temperature here was too high. The CX was never active from the day we got it, it always preferred to sit around and walk slowly so I'm hoping this one zooming all over the place is a good sign it's a different breed. It was a long night, the poor thing was calling urgently any time I set it down, I tried stuffed animals and noisy toys but it wanted company so I sat with it most of the night playing and being the incubator. It was fun but im tired now lol.
