Do white orpingtons exist?

I was recalling on a memory of my first chickens about 30 years ago. I didn't know what breed they were. Only thing I remember was legs were yellow all white feathers and plump looking birds.

yep! White legs though, not yellow.

I think white rocks have yellow legs though

Depending on how plump, I would guess either White Rocks or Cornish Cross. Both should have white feathers and yellow legs.

A White Leghorn would also have white feathers and yellow legs, but the body shape is very different, so probably not.

White Chanteclers exist too, also with white feathers, yellow legs, and plump bodies-- but they are pretty rare, so it is much less likely that you had them.

Yeah I had Cornish cross back then I know what they look like. Odd part is that white bird rarely laid an egg. My RIRs did most of that.

White Rocks usually lay pretty well, but with any breed there could be one or two that don't.

But from what you've described, and knowing that White Rocks are common, they would be my first guess. White feathers, yellow legs, single comb, lay brown eggs, plump but not nearly as broad as a Cornish Cross.

I was 20 years old when I got chickens and didn't know how to care for them. They lived in a chain link area with a shanty looking shelter. And the white hen died in the winter, she was a frozen block.
