Breed?

Victor is a year and one month. I thought he might be a mallard, but he looks nothing like a mallard even though he is over a year old. Does anyone know what breed he might be?

He looks like an American Black duck. Did you take him from the wild or get him from someone/where?

Depending on your location, it could be a mottled duck. A mallard should have a green head by now. He could be a mix of some sort. The patch on a black ducks wing tend to be a brighter purple where else a mallards will be blue. Can't really tell from the picture.

He looks like an American Black duck. Did you take him from the wild or get him from someone/where? His mom was a wild duck who made her nest under someone's porch.

His patches are a royal blue. Someone told me he wouldn't get his full coloring until closer to two years, so I thought I'd jumped the gun.
