Breedable Meat Bird

I am looking for a meat bird that I can breed and produce my own flock to eat. What is a breed that you have experienced success with?

Rocks. White in particular. There are others, but the white rock was raised by the hundreds, by my folks. Yet, I did all the chores and the ran the hatchet each fall.
