breeding age?

Mine were hatched end of April. They are exploring dark spaces like under the deck and acting kind of like they are looking for nesting sites. I am giving them a permanent shelter this weekend even though they have never used the temporary one they have. I havent seen breeding or courtship behavior but they are definitely looking for hidey hole type spaces.
Any idea what they are up too?

They usually will only mate once a day in the morning. This will go on for about two weeks, during and after which the female will lay eggs. Usually the female picks the nest site, sits on the eggs and all that, but sometimes the male helps building the nest and sitting on it. I've never heard of a male sitting on eggs for the entire incubation (though I don't doubt it has happened), but they often will trade on and off with the female.

Both the female and male will get really defensive once she is on her nest, so be careful. Their beaks can draw blood and their wings can cause serious bruising, so its best to just leave them alone until the babies are hatched, in my opinion. Just provide food and water and leave them be.

Maybe they are just playing house for now if just hatched in April I doubt it's any more than that.

@jchny2000 can probably give more advise.
I would for sure give them a permanent house with plenty of ventilation so they can be taught to go inside before dark, geese left out over night will most likely end up dead and eaten from predators.
