Breeding an australorp hen with a frizzle rooster?

I'm wanting to breed my australorps with a frizzle but I have chooks for the purpose of egg laying, I would love some baby chicks but will they be good layers too or only ornamental? I'm very new to all of this as we have only just bought our dream home with 34 acres yay! So finally have the space for my chooks!!!! (I live in Tasmania-Australia)

According to what I’ve read they are from austral and are hardy toast sized chicken and large eggs Lays best in winter

I am not an expert, but it might matter what else is in your Frizzle. I've read that Australorps and Silkies are both good layers. Silkie eggs are smaller than Australorp eggs, so you might see a reduction in egg size.
I do not know if the Silkie/Frizzle gene is passed on but the trait is useful because it reduces flight ability.
Edit: I just realized this post was from 2013, would love to know if you tried and what traits you got.
