Okay, my Saanen doe is going to be bred this fall it will be her first kidding.
I got her as a family milker, so while I plan to sell surplus kids she produces that we don't want to keep, I really don't plan to show or anything like that.
I had wanted to get into Nigi's because they are so colorful and fun. The Saanens are obviously all white.
What type of buck could I cross her with to produce something a little more colorful? I was thinking Nubian, I read it would make for higher butterfat content, but would also produce airplane ears.... I do realize that mixed kids are going to be worth less than purebreds, I don't mind.
Any thoughts?
