breeding out feathered legs?

Hi, I was wondering if stubs can be successfully bred out or should I just try and get my hands on another drake. These will not be show ducks, but I would like them to be bred as close to standard as possible. If the stubs can't be bred out then I will probably be getting rid of my only drake. I'm kind of sad because I know it's gonna be kind of difficult or darn near impossible getting my hands on a welsh harlequin drake (let alone a decent quality one) here where I am, but I don't want to do a disservice to the breed
