Breeding peafowl

Hi all I used to have 3 peafowl but I sadly lost 2 to a predator I have one 13 month old peahen. I'm thinking of buying a peacock for her in December/January, would they breed next year because I want to have peachicks. The peahen lives with my hens, she will be 2 next August, will she lay eggs next year?

She will be considered a two-year-old after next January. Yes, she should lay a few eggs but young hens do not reliably set their eggs, some do but most do not.

Right now is the perfect time. Getting used to each other and the environment is key to a good courtship. We try to make all of our pairings at the end of the breeding season and into the fall.

The guy I got my peahen from offered me two peachicks he said they'll be ready in a couple of months. Also there is 2 year old peacocks for sale from someone else. I want to breed my peahen next year, I want to have the peacocks free-range so should I get young ones or 2 year olds?
