Hi. I have RIR hens that I would like to breed. What roosters are best to breed with RIRs? What kind of chicks do I get with each different rooster?

If you breed with anything other than RIR, you get mutts. I am assuming you have hatchery stock and not HRIR?

What to breed with depends on your flock goals. Want some wacky mutts? Pick something like an EE that'll throw some pizazz in there. If you want regular egg layers another RIR is a good choice.
