Breeding Tips and Techniques: Heritage English Orpingtons

I am starting this thread to breeders of English Orpingtons to share their knowledge on how to breed for specific genetic traits.

A few topics I would like to be discussed is:

Breeding for size: What is the best way to increase the size? (height, width, weight and overall size)

Breeding for color: What is the perfect shade of Blue? How to improve the lacing on the blues?

Breeding for type: What is the correct type or body shape? How to improve the type?

My first tip would be, Build the barn then paint it...Get the correct size and type then worry about improving the color.
