I have two pullets that we thought were barred rocks for the longest time, but now we are suspicious. Do barred rocks lay this color egg?? (their names are Ernesto and Juniper by the way)

They appear to be Barred Rocks. That egg is a bit dark for Barred Rocks, but not out of line. Does the bird sitting down have the same color legs as the standing bird?
